You know what I've had enough of? Music snobs. You know who they are. They're the ones at a party who denounce every single musician brought into conversation, simply because that musician is popular. I fucking hate that. It's not the fact that they're denouncing a popular musician that gets to me because, let's face it, there's a lot of shitty, shitty bands on the top 40. It's the fact that they do it simply because everyone else seems to like them. And you can tell which people are doing this and which ones honestly don't like a band for a well-thought-out reason.
"You listen to _____? Gawd, they suck. They're not half as good as The Toenail Jimbone Trio. Man, those guys are great. Have you guys heard their newest album, Bunnygun Shoe-Flipper? No? Man, where have you guys been?!"
They know damn well nobody has ever heard of that band, and still, they name-drop. It's an attempt to look cooler than they actually are, and none of them ever recognize that they're annoying the piss out of every person in the room. We don't fucking care about your indie bands. We don't care about your foreign films. We don't care about you as a person because we're all secretly wishing that you'll get into a car accident on the way home.
These are the same pukes who give critical praise to bands that are half-assed, simply because other critics are doing the same. I'm sick of it. These assholes are the reason my CD-less car radio is constantly cluttered up with shit. It's time to call them on it.
